As the central bank of Romania, Banca Naţională a României is one of the most important financial institutions in the country and has a number of important responsibilities that include the definition and implementation of monetary and exchange rate policy, the authorisation, regulation and supervision of credit institutions and overall management of the official reserves of Romania.
