About

CABEI was founded in 1960 and serves as an international institution aimed at promoting integration and development among its founding countries, namely Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. In recent high-profile news the Central Bank of Cuba (BCC) signed the instrument of accession, establishing its place in the Central American Bank for Economic Integration. The legal team played a key role in the signing of the agreement which formalises Cuba as an extra-regional partner to the banking institution and, in addition, will facilitate access to new sources of external financing. The team continues to add value, additionally realising multiple projects including the portfolio of opportunities for foreign investment. Important members of the team respected for their in-house experience and technical legal nous include regional legal adviser Julio-Eduardo Martinez-Bichara, country attorney for Guatemala Luis Alejandro and country attorney for El Salvador Rodrigo Mendez Binder.
