Based in Sydney, group general counsel Peter Ferguson joined the company in 2011 and today manages a team of seven lawyers, three of whom are based in Australia whilst the others are based in the United Kingdom. Supporting Ferguson in the Sydney offices are legal counsels Stefani Russo and Mina Shoukry. Russo joined recently in 2017 and brings with her strong skills in commercial agreements, regulatory and legislative changes as well as transactional matters for large corporate and government organisations within the technology, media and telecommunications industries. Shoukry, who joined in 2015 is a passionate technology lawyer that has an excellent understanding of both commercial drivers and policy frameworks that shape corporate decision-making. The legal function supports the IRESS businesses by covering transactional work, preparing licence and service agreements for clients, acquisitions, procurement and an associated range of legal and regulatory issues. As a talented set of individuals able to handle demanding workloads, the legal team also holds responsibility for the IRESS’ company secretarial, corporate governance, risk management and compliance functions.
