Comprised of over 30 lawyers, the team is responsible for all legal and corporate governance matters for ANZ Bank’s New Zealand business. Praised for its introduction of various innovative technical solutions that have a profound impact on simplifying processes and achieving greater efficiency, the team undertakes work that is both interesting and diverse. It ranges from banking and financial services work to meet retail and small business requirements such as loans, mortgages, credit cards, insurance, and Kiwisaver, to more specialised work related to funds management, commercial lending and security, property finance, structured and asset based lending and other complex areas. Formerly headed by the GC Powerlist series featured lawyer Craig Mulholland, who currently serves as a managing director in the Wealth segment of the company, ANZ recently appointed David Bricklebank as its general counsel and corporate secretary. Previously, Bricklebank served for five years as an associate general counsel at the company and boasts substantial experience in telecommunications, finance and real estate law.
