Bridas Corporation is an independent oil and gas holding company based in Argentina, having been founded in 1948 it has since become the second largest producer of fossil fuels in the country. With a major focus on the South American Southern Cone and Central Asia regions, its activities include the exploration, development and production of oil and gas reserves, as well as marketing and transportation of these products.

Bridas Corporation’s legal team has been a core component in its expansion, particularly in the Central Asian region having been involved all negotiations and large scale contracts to secure the business’ commercial interests. The team achieves this by operating with optimum knowledge in explorations rights both domestically and across a number of international jurisdictions. Amongst these is a joint venture agreement established in 2017, in which oil major BP agreed to merge its interests in Bridas Corporation, creating the largest privately owned integrated energy company in Argentina. Amongst its most recognised individuals, legal counsel Juan Bautista Yofre stands out for his participation in the sale and purchase of assets in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay, including the acquisition of Esso from ExxonMobil. The team assisted in the due diligence of the takeover, using its knowledge on contractual matters, litigation, antitrust, IP, national and local regulations surrounding the oil industry.
