What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

We have recently been involved in the implementation of telecommuting for all administrative employees in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay. We have also handled the M&A process of selling the Toddy and Zucoa brands in Argentina.

Over the past two years, the Argentina legal team led the agenda transformation of our business, updating contracts with our distributors and improving the company’s contract system.

In a litigation point of view, we managed to reduce our lawsuit portfolio by 60% from 2019 until today. Additionally, we generate strategic alliances with global organiSations that care for environmental and sustainable development. This established us as key business partners and we are being globally ackwoledged for that.

Do you use any “legal tech” products and do you find them a helpful management device?

To streamline processes and improve technological resources, we have implemented a legal bot that gives access to the frequently asked questions such as contract templates, internal policies, powers of attorney, corporate documentation, among others. This acquisition not only helped to speed up processes but also to give independence to the different areas within the company.

Furthermore, we advise the company on NFT’S and metaverse projects, keeping the business on the cutting edge of the market.

Finally, we are currently implementing the E-LAW litigation management system and a robotic process automation for payments to legal providers and lawsuits.

How much influence do you, as a general counsel, have on the diversity and inclusions policies of your organisation?

We are strategic allies of human resources, as well as internal and external communications teams. In the last few years, we have adapted the company’s policies regarding inclusion and diversity. Accordingly, we implemented legal processes for gender change in labour files and before state authorities. Lastly, the legal team always support PepsiCo’s communication campaigns regarding diversity and environmental sustainability.
