What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

We are a start-up that witnessed a rapid growth, and we received important investments from international funds, previously carried out a thorough due diligence of the company, involving a great challenge that was finally successful. We also expanded very quickly throughout Latin America, opening subsidiaries and starting operations in record time in countries such as Mexico, Brazil and Colombia.

Which recent political, economic or regulatory changes have impacted the company and the team the most?

Being a company that scales very quickly, and that reaches any corner of the world due to the nature of the services it provides, forces us to be aware of the different realities, not only legal and regulatory in each country, but also social and economic. So, there is no policy or regulatory change that particularly affects us, but many, especially in Latin America, where we have very different realities.

If you had to give advice to an aspiring in-house lawyer or general counsel, what would it be and why?

That person must be flexible, develop a quick answer approach, and know, in-depth, the business in which he or she works. You must always keep in mind the premise that the lawyer is there to help you with your business, minimising the risks, and never preventing progress. You should always be one step ahead, imagining the normative and regulatory changes that may affect the market in which they are relevant.
