Career

Call : 1999 Abigail is a specialist family law barrister practising in all aspects of the law relating to children and has considerable experience in complex care proceedings. Abigail often appears in challenging cases concerning alleged physical or sexual abuse, from the fact-finding through to the final hearing.

Abigail continues to be highly ranked in Chambers UK and in The Legal 500 guide. She is noted for her articulate and eloquent advocacy and for being calm under pressure and unflappable on her feet. She is caring with clients and has considerable skills in dealing with clients with learning difficulties and mental health issues.

In private law work Abigail acts in and welcomes instructions in high-conflict disputes concerning allegations of domestic abuse and/or allegations of alienating behaviours and cases with jurisdictional issues.

In addition, Abigail represents parties in the Court of Protection, with an emphasis on health and welfare matters.

In 2019 Abigail was appointed as a Fee-paid Judge of the First–tier Tribunal (Health Education and Social Care Chamber), ticketed to the Mental Health Jurisdiction. She is an accredited trainer on the FLBA’s Vulnerable Witness Advocacy Programme.
