Cameron Grant

Cameron Grant

Cameron began his clerking career in 2010 at a leading chancery set in Lincoln’s Inn, later joining one of England’s largest sets in 2016. Cameron joined New Square Chambers in November 2018 as a Practice Manager. Cameron’s responsibilities include diary management, fee negotiation, case allocation, case listing, and liaising with clients and courts. Cameron plays an active role in the development of junior barristers’ practices, as well as junior clerk training and in the business development and marketing of chambers as a whole. He has completed the Bar Council Public Access course and is also a member of the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks.
Michelle Greene

Michelle Greene

Michelle joined Chambers in 2002, after attaining a BA Honours degree from Oxford Brookes University. With 20 years’ experience in chambers, Michelle was appointed Senior Clerk in February 2022, becoming the first female senior clerk of New Square Chambers. Michelle is responsible for all operations in relation to clerking, business development and marketing. Leading the clerks room, Michelle oversees and strengthens the development of barristers’ practices, distribution of work, conducts large scale fee negotiation and ensures that the highest level of client service is provided. As a member of chambers’ executive committee, Michelle is instrumental in chambers’ business and strategic development and growth, and with assistance from the Deputy Senior Clerk and Marketing Manager, Michelle is responsible for the implementation of all marketing activities and initiatives in the promotion of chambers, both domestically and internationally. Michelle is the first point of contact for those with established practices wishing to apply for tenancy.
Nathan Hitman

Nathan Hitman

Nathan began his clerking career in 2006. Having clerked at three of the country’s leading chancery commercial sets, he joined New Square Chambers in July 2019 and was promoted to Deputy Senior Clerk in October 2022. Nathan’s key responsibilities include, diary management, negotiating fees, practice development, and the building and maintaining of client relationships. In addition to assisting the Senior Clerk in overseeing the smooth running of the clerks room, and in monitoring and maintaining client service levels, Nathan also plays an important role in the strategising of New Square Chambers’ business development and marketing trajectory, which includes participating in events and initiatives throughout the country and abroad.
Charlie Sherwood

Charlie Sherwood

Charlie joined Chambers in January 2015 as a Junior Clerk. He was promoted to Junior Practice Manager in 2017 and then to his current role as Practice Manager in January 2018. Charlie’s responsibilities include diary management, fee negotiation, case allocation, case listing, and liaising with clients and courts. Charlie plays an active role in the development of junior barristers’ practices, as well as junior clerk training and in the business development and marketing of chambers as a whole. He received a distinction in the BTEC Advanced Award in Chambers Administration, has completed the Bar Council Public Access Course and is a member of the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks.
