Nida Ali

Career

Nida Ali studied Political Economy at King’s College London, completing part of her degree at the University of California, Berkeley. She subsequently converted to law and was called to the Bar as a Marchant Scholar of Lincoln’s Inn.

Since joining chambers, Nida is keenly developing her private law family practice, and routinely appears at all stages of proceedings for child arrangements, specific issue and prohibited steps orders – including cases involving serious allegations of domestic violence, parental alienation and child abuse. Nida is accustomed to handling parallel or standalone injunctive proceedings brought pursuant to the Family Law Act 1996, having previously advised on such applications at the NCDV. Her various experience of working with, and supporting extremely vulnerable individuals, means she takes an empathetic and focused approach – gaining their trust, sensitively advising on delicate matters and robustly defending their interests.

Nida also manages a busy civil practice – accepting instructions in property matters including possession proceedings; commercial debt recovery; injunctive relief; personal insolvency; winding-up; consumer credit and other contractual disputes. She also advises and appears in a range of personal injury matters.

Nida receives regular praise from professional clients and judges for her meticulous preparation, professionalism and advocacy. She also recognises the benefits of early negotiation in appropriate cases and advises pragmatically.
