Emily Chapman

Position

Emily Chapman is a specialist family practitioner and accepts instructions across all areas of family law, including financial remedies, private children, public children and applications brought under TOLATA and FLA 1996.

Emily regularly represents clients at all levels of proceedings and has appeared independently at all levels up to and including the High Court. She frequently acts in cases involving serious allegations of domestic abuse, parental alienation or substance misuse.

Prior to joining Chambers, Emily successfully completed pupillage at a leading family law set where she assisted with a variety of complex cases, gaining experience in multiple areas of family law spanning financial remedies, private children, public children and international matters.

Whilst pursuing her legal studies, Emily volunteered with the Citizens Advice Witness Service, offering practical information and emotional support to vulnerable witnesses. Emily has mooted extensively and in 2023, following six rounds of competition, she competed as a finalist in Middle Temple’s Rosamund Smith Mooting Competition and represented Middle Temple in a series of moots against the University of North Carolina.
