Position

Anirudh is building a broad practice in civil and public law. His core practice areas include data protection, human rights and judicial review, police law, inquests, clinical negligence, personal injury (both domestic and cross border) and the court of protection. He is ranked as a “rising star” in the Legal 500 where he is described as “clear, knowledgeable and informative to clients. He also has a kind touch with all clients to give them reassurance and support”.

Recent highlights of Anirudh’s practice include the following:

  • Inquests into the death of patients by Ian Paterson. Anirudh is led by Jonathan Jones KC as junior counsel to these inquests.
  • Khera v National Health Service Commissioning Board (ongoing); an appeal concerning the jurisdiction of the court over the General Dental Services Contract. Anirudh was led by Simon Butler in the King’s Bench Division.
  • Roberts v Jones [2024] EWHC 290 (KB) and [2024] EWCA Civ 118; an appeal concerning the proper operation of CPR 71 and the slip rule. Anirudh was led by Simon Butler in the Court of Appeal (Civil Division).
  • Lester Corporation Ltd v Rahim [2023] EWHC 1805 (KB); an appeal concerning a non-party costs order and order for indemnity costs. Anirudh acted as sole counsel in the King’s Bench Division.

Prior to the Bar, Anirudh worked as a judicial assistant to Sir Rupert Jackson and Lady Justice Asplin, a stagiaire at the European Court of Justice. He was also appointed as a visiting tutor at the London School of Economics.

Away from the Bar, Anirudh enjoys wild swimming, badminton and baking biscuits, cakes and pastries.
