Raquel Ortiz is an associate in the Mexico Office of DLA Piper, focused on labor, employment, social security, and discrimination and harassment in the workplace-related matters.

Having spent the first six years of her career defending world-leading pharmaceuticals, automotive, and construction machinery companies in employment litigation, she bring her clients comprehensive consultancy on designing and executing strategies to modify work conditions and employment structures, to hire expats and C-level employees or to terminate their employment relationships, as well as to transfer personnel derived from mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, down-sizings and closings.

Raquel has assisted many corporate groups in drafting mandatory and advisable policies, training their employees on discrimination and sexual harassment, and training their managers on best labor practices.

She has broad experience in attending invitations, audits, and inspections carried out by labor and social security authorities and representing companies in employment litigation and social security procedures.

Raquel is experienced in leading due diligences in labor, employment, and social security matters required either for companies’ internal compliance purposes or for mergers and acquisitions.
