Career

Carlos specializes in the legal structuring and execution of Public and Private Infrastructure Projects, including advising on various contractual, corporate, financial and arbitration issues related to them.

He frequently advises concessionaries and international investors during the execution of their P3 projects, focusing on the construction and investment phase, especially in the areas of toll road infrastructure, airports, railways, ports, and energy.

Carlos also gives legal advice to contractors in the execution of public works under typical government contracting regimes or under special regimes (such as Government to Government). He also practices construction law, focusing on advising clients in the execution of works under internationally accepted model contracts (as FIDIC NEC)

On the other hand, Carlos has extensive experience sponsoring clients in arbitration proceedings derived from public infrastructure concession contracts, as well as derived from the execution of public and private works, having developed an important specialization in the solution of controversies in the construction sector.

Today, Carlos co-leads the Latin America Arbitration Practice for DLA Piper. Likewise, he chaired the Peruvian Society of Construction Law from August 2021 until December 2023 and is an active arbitrator member of the Lima Chamber of Commerce list.
