Position
Hazel Shakur Quinn is a partner and Head of Real Estate for Dentons in the Middle East, based in Dubai. She leads an award-winning team on a wide range of real estate development and investment transactions across a variety of sub-sectors including logistics, commercial, luxury residential, education, and sports and leisure. Hazel has a particular specialism in complex real estate joint ventures.
She is the go-to expert and trusted advisor on Middle East real estate matters for leading sovereign wealth funds, family offices, technology companies, major developers and investors. Hazel has first-hand experience of running a real estate company which makes her a unique and commercially focused legal expert in the real estate market. She co-founded one of the largest chartered surveying consultancies in the Middle East. During her time in the Middle East, Hazel has led a number of "trophy asset" deals and "first-of-their-kind" transactions, including the UAE's first Green REIT. She has been consistently ranked as a leading expert in real estate by Chambers Global, Legal 500 and Spears.

Masdar (a Mubadala company): Advising on the asset management and restructuring of one of its commercial office portfolios and subsequently advising on the structure and establishment of its multi-million US$ "Green REIT" in the Abu Dhabi Global Market. This was the first sustainable green REIT to be established in the UAE.* A Dubai-based private investor: Advising the multi-million US$ acquisition and finance of U-Bora Tower, Business Bay, Dubai – a 57-storey commercial office let to more than 80 tenants and subject to a double-layered strata scheme. By deal value, it was the single largest investment asset deal to be registered at the Dubai Land Department at the time.* The Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC): Advising on the legal structuring of its giga luxury real estate and hospitality developments on an archipelago of islands in the Red Sea (including Sheybarah Island and Shurayrah Island) and the associated suite of documentation relating to its proposed jointly-owned property schemes.* Aldar Properties: Advising on the restructuring of its master community declarations and subordinate jointly-owned property suite of documentation across 12 of its residential schemes and new developments, as well as advising on the launch of several new residential projects.* Abu Dhabi Business Hub: Advising on the corporate disposal of the majority of its logistics business and subsequent joint venture with Aldar which marked a landmark transaction in the UAE logistics sector in 2022.* Various corporate occupiers: Advising various occupiers including Apple Inc., Knight Frank, Deliveroo and The Executive Centre on leading lease negotiations of their respective commercial and retail space in the UAE.Languages
