Position
Michał Jochemczak is a partner at Dentons in Poland. He heads the Arbitration team in the firm’s Warsaw office.
He specializes in complex commercial litigation and arbitration, bringing over 20 years of experience to his practice. Michał’s work spans domestic and international construction projects, real estate transactions, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate law and financial services. He advises on international civil law matters, including jurisdictional issues, enforcement of judgments and conflict of laws, as well as competition law, covering corporate and procedural aspects.
Michał has extensive experience in resolving major infrastructure disputes. His advises and represents both domestic and international clients at every stage of a complex project’s lifecycle – from negotiation and contract performance to contract management, dispute avoidance and resolution through arbitration or court proceedings. His project portfolio includes LNG terminals, power plants, wind farms, waste-to-energy (WtE) facilities, power stations, transmission lines, railways and roads.
He also provides advice on shareholder disputes and post-M&A disputes, representing majority and minority shareholders, investors, founders and corporate boards in high-stakes conflicts over governance, fiduciary duties, shareholder agreements and equity rights. His experience encompasses disputes over valuation disagreements, breaches of representations and warranties, earn-out provisions and contested buyouts.
Michał’s in-depth understanding of both corporate law and the practical dynamics of business relationships enables him to develop creative, client-focused solutions, whether through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation. His approach is characterized by proactive risk management and a clear-eyed strategy for achieving favorable outcomes in some of the most complex and contentious disputes in corporate and transactional contexts.
Additionally, Michał also sits as an arbitrator, having received his first appointment in international arbitration under the ICC Rules at the age of 30.
