Verónica is a Partner in the Intellectual Property practice at Dentons Paz Horowitz and leads the firm’s trademark and copyright litigation and enforcement practice. She advises domestic and international clients on the protection, defense and strategic exploitation of intangible assets, with a strong focus on administrative, judicial and criminal intellectual property proceedings. Her practice includes trademark enforcement, anti-counterfeiting strategies, border measures, preliminary injunctions and copyright litigation, helping clients protect high-value portfolios and mitigate infringement risks in both physical and digital environments.

Verónica has extensive experience developing comprehensive enforcement strategies for multinational companies in the pharmaceutical, consumer goods, technology and financial sectors. She has successfully obtained landmark decisions before Ecuadorian authorities, including recognition of bad faith trademark filings, acquired distinctiveness and the imposition of maximum statutory sanctions, seizures and destruction of counterfeit products. Her work also includes advising on digital rights, web scraping, online infringement and licensing structures for international brands entering the Ecuadorian market. In addition to her practice, she actively participates in pro bono initiatives supporting women, entrepreneurs and vulnerable communities through intellectual property advisory and legal education programs. She has been recognized by Latin Lawyer, Leaders League and IP Stars for her work in intellectual property litigation and enforcement.
