Career

David has a hybrid practice comprised of government investigations and compliance, such as anti-corruption and bribery, constitutional and administrative law, and traditional commercial litigation.

David leads and assists internal investigations into allegations of business misconduct spanning numerous jurisdictions, including alleged offences under the Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act and Criminal Code, as well as conflicts of interest, kickback payments, procurement fraud and data breaches. He was seconded to the business conduct department of one of the largest companies in the world and continues to carry out internal investigations for that company. David also assist clients with their compliance regimes.

On regulatory matters and in commercial litigation, David has represented companies in diverse areas including oil and gas, power, tech, cannabis, pharmaceuticals, health, banking, payments, among others. He has appeared at trial before the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench and assisted on matters before the Alberta Court of Appeal, British Columbia Supreme Court, Saskatchewan Court of King's Bench, Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal and domestic and international arbitration panels.

Prior to joining Dentons, David clerked to the Honorable J.D. Denis Pelletier at the Federal Court of Appeal in Ottawa.
