Practice head Tiberiu Csaki assisted an global agricultural cooperative with a successful debt recovery via insolvency proceedings involving a Romanian trader of cereals. Work for debtors includes the ongoing representation of a chemical manufacturing company in insolvency proceedings, where the group assisted in challenging the measures implemented by the judicial receiver.

Dentons possesses expert knowledge of technology-sector M&A, competition, consumer and data protection, finance and GDPR issues. Recent work highlights include advising Tata Communications on an array of regulatory issues specific to the Romanian market as well as providing counsel to a multinational conglomerate from the US on its EU-wide GDPR implementation. Banking and finance Tier 3
Perry V. Zizzi's team at Dentons is well regarded for its real estate and corporate finance capabilities, as well as for loan work-outs and restructurings. It assisted Banca Comercială Română and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development with the development financing for two green warehouses. In another highlight, the practice formed part of an international team advising a consortium of lenders on the acquisition of Fortuna Entertainment Group. The team has experience advising clients in the manufacturing, technology, green energy and automotive industries.

Dispute resolution Tier 3
Dentons successfully obtained an annulment of a fine levied on client Auchan's Real hypermarkets by the Romanian Competition Council. Practice head Tiberiu Csaki led on the matter and also achieved a positive outcome for Ovidiu Development on a claim for annulment of a building permit at the largest Romanian wind farm. The team handles a broad range of disputes in the energy, automotive, infrastructure, manufacturing, chemicals and retail industries.
EU and competition Tier 3
At Dentons, practice head Raul Mihu successfully assisted two retail giants with Competition Council negotiations pertaining to a first of its kind, joint acquisition project. Mihu’s team handled the full range of competition matters including EU and national merger control, cartel investigations, antitrust, compliance programmes, state aid and restrictive practices.
