Senior Associate

I am an associate in DWF Catastrophic Injury & Occupational Health team. I act for insurers and self-insured companies defending claims arising out of road traffic accidents, accidents at work and public liability claims.

I act for defendants in personal injury claims with a potential to be worth in excess of £100,000 although I also handler some lower value matters.

I am proud of my Welsh heritage, although I am based in Bristol, I cover cases across England and Wales.

In my 20 years’ experience I have handled personal injury litigation and a broad spectrum of injury types including chronic pain syndrome, somatoform disorder, spinal injuries, head injuries, complicated fractures and psychiatric injuries. I regularly record large fraud savings for clients in cases where the claim is bogus or the extent of the injury or loss is exaggerated.

I adopt a commercial approach to litigation with my focus being on getting the client out of a claim as quickly and as cheaply as possible. Attention is always paid to my clients’ overall claim's spend but I also heed public relations issues. Some years ago I devised a dual-offer strategy of making P Mart 36 and time limited offers concurrently where appropriate to put a claimant under maximum pressure to settle. This has proven effective and popular with clients.
