Michał Szumbarski is an advocate and member of the Dispute Resolution and Arbitration Department at DWF Poland. He specialises in commercial litigation with a particular focus on the financial sector and construction industry. He has over 9 years of experience in a wide range of commercial disputes, including high-profile cases concerning: insurance claims, liability for damages, corporate disputes, public procurement, claims arising out of construction contracts, injunction and enforcement proceedings, insolvency and restructuring proceedings.

Michał Szumbarski represents clients mainly before Polish common courts and the Supreme Court. He has acted for clients in many negotiations, including negotiations concerning high-value settlement agreements related to infrastructure investments.

Michał regularly advises clients on various legal issues connected with FIDIC-based high-value construction contracts concerning railways and motorways. He has extensive experience in legal aspects of day-to-day construction contract management, FIDIC contractual procedures and preparation of contractual claims under FIDIC-based contracts.

Michał Szumbarski also has experience in legal advisory related to commercial contracts, corporate governance, asset acquisitions and asset tracing.

He has been recognised by The Legal 500 in White-Collar Crime.
