Types of work undertaken:
Commercial disputes: Our commercial disputes team advises businesses, organisations and individuals on complex disputes, helping clients protect their interests and resolve issues commercially and effectively. The team offers colleagues exposure to challenging, strategic work across a wide range of sectors.
Commercial property: The commercial property team has grown considerably in recent years and is known for its strong regional and national reputation. The team advises on a wide range of transactions, with particular expertise in agricultural property, financing, construction and development, landlord and tenant matters, and business transfers.
Corporate and commercial: Our corporate and commercial services have grown significantly over the past decade, supported by continued investment in people and technology. The team works with a strong mix of longstanding clients and new businesses, giving colleagues exposure to varied, high-quality work across the South West.
Employment: Our employment team advises both employers and individuals, helping clients navigate workplace issues with practical, commercially aware and people-focused advice.
Family and divorce: Coodes has a highly regarded family and divorce team, advising on the full range of family, divorce, domestic abuse and Children Act matters with skill, sensitivity and care.
Personal disputes: Our personal disputes team is ranked in The Legal 500 and supports clients through sensitive, complex and often highly personal disputes. The team has particular expertise in contentious trusts and probate, advising on estate disputes, inheritance claims, will challenges and disagreements involving executors, trustees and beneficiaries. We focus on giving clients clear, practical advice, helping them understand their options and working towards the best possible resolution.
Personal injury and clinical negligence: Our specialist teams support clients through complex and often life-changing matters, combining technical expertise with compassion and clear communication.
Private client: Our private client team is exceptional, advising a large client base on complex estate, trust and personal planning matters with technical expertise and a highly personal approach.
Residential Property: Our conveyancing team is the largest in the region and handles one of the highest volumes of transactions among competing firms. It is a recognised leader in its field, with multiple awards reflecting the team’s strength, scale and expertise.
Rural and agricultural matters: Coodes has particular strength in rural and agricultural work, supported by a deep understanding of the sector and a strong farming client base.
