Tim is instructed by the Big Four accountancy firms and below (together with the international accountancy networks and smaller firms) to act on major regulatory investigations and disciplinary proceedings against auditors and accountants. He acts for audit firms and audit partners from the outset of disciplinary proceedings through the rigours of regulatory investigations to full disciplinary tribunals. He has acted on some of the most sensitive and high profile matters in recent years and is currently instructed to defend the KPMG audit partner in relation the long running FRC investigation into KPMG's audits of Carillion.
Tim works alongside experienced Of Counsel, Andrew Forsyth (see below) supported by Legal Director Natalia Jeremiah (see below) and Senior Associates David Milner (see below), James Gyselynck and Laurel Forde (see below).
In addition to his work in relation to major FRC investigations, Tim also assists accountancy firms in relation to (a) disciplinary proceedings by the Institute for Chartered Accountants in England Wales (ICAEW) covering matters such as conflicts of interest, integrity allegations and allegations of a failure to detect fraud; and (b) responding to investigations by other regulatory including the FCA and SFO.
In addition to his work for the major accountancy firms, Tim is well known for his work defending the major auction houses against professional negligence claims. He is the go-to lawyer for Christie Manson & Woods and acts for them on a number of high profile matters.
