Employment.

Philomena is a Director in the Employment team, advising on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law. She acts for a range of clients from national corporate companies to individuals. Her particular expertise is supporting clients within the transport, food and drink, hospitality and leisure industry sectors.

With over 20 years working in the legal industry, she boasts an excellent record in employment tribunals. .  She has been involved in successfully fighting a variety of claims, including complex discrimination claims, unfair dismissal and Agency Workers Regulations claims. Example of recent workload: conducting large scale collective redundancy exercises; advising on high profile executive severances; implementing disciplinary and grievance procedures; advising on long term sick absences; advising on TUPE in relation to the acquisition of a business.

She regularly delivers training in person and has developed modules for on-line training for induction purposes on a variety of topics including Equality and Diversity. Prior to training as a solicitor, she worked at the Equality and Human Rights Commission and consequently has a particular interest in discrimination law.

Philomena trained at Shoosmiths and has worked for several large regional law practices.  She joined SE-Solicitors as a Director in 2014.
