Isaac Walukagga

Position

Isaac Walukagga is a partner in the Dispute Resolution Team.  His portfolio includes multimillion‑dollar commercial recoveries, high‑stakes tax litigation, transfer pricing advisory for global financial institutions, and precedent‑setting employment and tenancy cases at Uganda’s highest courts.

Isaac has represented international Banks before the High Court (Commercial Division) in multimillion‑dollar recovery actions. He has also advised an international road construction company in an integrity‑based investigation with the African Development Bank and Uganda’s Anti‑Corruption Department, and helped design a full integrity compliance structure for the company.

Career

Issac trained at Mugerwa & Maembe Advocates, after which he joined MMAKS Advocates as an associate, and grew through the ranks to become a partner in the firm in 2013.

Isaac completed a secondment to the corporate and commercial department, and the international arbitration department of Stephenson Harwood in London. He also participated in secondments at 3 Verulam Buildings and Essex Court Chambers, both of which are leading barristers’ sets in London.

Isaac is a former senior lecturer at the Law Development Centre of the Ugandan Bar School, where he taught civil proceedings and commercial transactions.
