Career
Marcela Olarte Tabares is an associate attorney at Britton & Iglesias, with extensive experience in international arbitration, construction law, international litigation, cross-border insolvency, and financial transactions.
She has represented multinational corporations, multilateral banks, project managers, and others in international arbitration proceedings involving construction and corporate law under CECAP, CESCON, and ICC rules, as well as in corporate insolvency proceedings in Colombia and cross-border insolvency proceedings under the UNCITRAL Model Law.
She is a speaker at national and international forums and has teaches bankruptcy law at Colombian universities. She is a member of Young ICCA, the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce’s Youth Arbitration Network, the Latin American Arbitration Association, and the Colombian Very Young Arbitration Practitioners.
She is a lawyer from the Universidad Libre de Colombia and holds specializations in Contract Law and Business Law at the Universidad Externado and in Financial Law at the Universidad de los Andes. She has studied at American University Washington College of Law and at INSOL International.
