Acting throughout the region, EY Law Central America has a complete team in the Dominican Republic, with key specialisations in M&A, both local and transnational, and tax. Despite the halt caused by the pandemic, during 2020 and 2021 the firm was able to act on a number of transactions, notably in the cement, telecoms, power and electricity, and consumer goods sectors. In particular, practice head Thania Gómez assisted the Linda Group in a highlight transaction in the energy sector, in connection to the management of the country's electricity generation. Restructuring also played an important role for the team, which notably includes associate Julio César Muñoz.
