Career

Marçal Justen Filho became a qualified lawyer in Brazil in 1978 and in 1986 he founded Justen, Pereira, Oliveira & Talamini. He has extensive experience in Public Law and he is currently known as a leading authority in the subject. After several years of practice in litigation and broad academic research, his particular and extensive expertise as well as his long list of publications lead him to be one of the most sought experts in Public Law and he now focuses his practice in legal opinions, having been appointed as an expert witness in emblematic cases. Justen is the president of Brazil Infrastructure Institute and editor of Contemporary Administrative Law Review – ReDAC. For 28 years, he taught Law at the Federal University of Paraná. Formerly, he was a visiting researcher at Yale University (2010/2011) and a visiting fellow at the European University Institute in Florence (1999).
