Jorge's practice focuses on highly complex transactions: corporate restructuring and insolvency, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and structured finance. He has represented investors, creditors, and debtors in insolvency proceedings and liability restructuring processes, both in Mexico and in international markets.

Jorge designs legal strategies for contentious matters, including shareholder disputes in publicly traded, private, and family-owned companies, as well as negotiations with government authorities and dispute resolution processes. His approach prioritizes comprehensive solutions that optimize timing and preserve value for his clients.

Jorge also advises domestic and international clients on financing negotiations, debt issuances, and mergers and acquisitions processes, as well as on the design of investment structures for multinational companies.

Education

Jorge earned his law degree, cum laude, from Escuela Libre de Derecho and an LL.M. from Columbia Law School in New York, where he was recognized as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar for academic excellence.

He gained international experience in New York, where he was a member of the Global Financial Markets team focused on Latin America at Clifford Chance US LLP. In that role, he participated in sovereign and corporate debt restructuring processes, international securities offerings, capital markets transactions, and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
