Marcela is a highly regarded environmental and water resources lawyer with over 25 years of experience. She is a member of Nader Hayaux Goebel's Transition to Net Zero Task Force, a multi-legal practice group advising Mexican and foreign companies on their transition to a regenerative economy through the implementation of sustainable development objectives and ESG criteria.

As a versatile lawyer, she has extensive experience in regulatory matters, as well as complex M&A and real estate transactions, project finance, public offerings, legislative issues and public policy.

She is a frequent speaker and author in Mexico and Spain on climate change, soil contamination, circular economy, water governance, and sustainable management of national parks.

Marcela holds a bachelor's degree in law from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM); a master's degree in environmental policy and management from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in Spain, and numerous post graduate qualifications on compliance, real estate, energy and environmental law from some of Mexico's most prestigious universities (Escuela Libre de Derecho and ITAM).
