Career

With two decades of experience in the mining sector, Daniel combines in-house roles at leading mining companies with extensive external advisory work on complex transactions, giving him a deep and strategic understanding of the industry. He was part of the legal team at BHP, where he led global teams and developed strategies for major projects across multiple jurisdictions.

His expertise spans the entire mining cycle—from early-stage exploration to the commissioning of large-scale operations. He regularly advises on the negotiation of strategic alliances, joint ventures, and exploration agreements. He also frequently represents mining service providers, engineering and construction firms, and metal traders.

Daniel actively advises and engages with public institutions and industry associations. Since 2023, he has served as a member of the Advisory Council of the Ministry of Mining, and, since 2024, as its President.

He rejoined Morales & Besa in 2025.
