Position

Bill Ticknor concentrates his practice on complex commercial real estate transactions across the investment lifecycle, including acquisitions, dispositions, and debt and equity finance. He serves as trusted counsel to real estate funds, developers, high-net-worth individuals, and both institutional and non-institutional investors.

With more than two decades of experience, Bill structures and negotiates single-asset and multi-asset portfolio deals and leads a full spectrum of financing transactions, including traditional acquisition and construction loans, refinancings, loan assumptions, defeasances, workouts, and syndicated, participating and securitized loan facilities. He also advises on mezzanine financings and preferred equity investments, aligning capital stacks to meet clients’ risk, return and timing objectives.

Bill’s matters span marquee single-asset “trophy” transactions as well as multi-asset and whole-company deals involving diverse property types, such as industrial facilities, luxury hotels and resorts, office towers, shopping centers, parking structures, self-storage, student housing, and multifamily communities. He has guided the acquisition and financing of large-scale industrial portfolios, creative office and retail developments, multifamily projects exceeding billions of dollars of transactions, and high-profile assets throughout California and across the United States.
