Diversity

While the firm’s professional workforce is quite balanced at 55% female and 45% male, the communication, human resources management, administration & finance and document editing teams are lead and formed mostly by women..

Our interest for D&I policies include the empowerment of women in our organization and the legal profession but also goes beyond that. We strive to maintain a workforce which is diverse from a generational standpoint, (practically half of our staff is less than 30 years old, and we have support staff and former partners still working at the firm past the retirement age) as well as in terms or geographical and cultural origin, as our lawyers come from different provinces and universities around the country.

After offering a series of meetings and seminars on D&I in the legal market during 2019 and 2020, in 2021 we were the only Argentine law firm promoting a social networks campaign in support to the #Pride Month 2021. That year we organized several awareness talks with the in-house counsels who lead the D&I initiatives to promote and remain active in the discussion of these values in our firm.

Also, in 2021 we started working on a Diversity, Equality and Inclusion project together with a local consultant, with the following purposes:

  • Achieve work diversity and inclusion as intangible assets of our organization.
  • Attract and retain young talent, so as to have a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Promote creativity and motivation, and spaces for reflection.
  • Design actions that are, and can be seen and understood, as a result of the participation and agreement of all members of the firm.
  • Improve the career plan for lawyers, initially with special emphasis on gender and youth.
  • Increase and strengthen the relationship with our current and potential clients through more diverse workforces and persons in leadership positions.

In 2022 we continued celebrating #Pride Month and this time we organized several activities for the team such as surveys and newsletter mailings, ending the month with the screening of a documentary and a debate with Marcelo Feldman, lawyer and former activist of Gays DC in Buenos Aires.

Our female partners and several female counsels/associates lead in different advocacy areas related to the topic of D&I in various professional fields (including international arbitration, tax, public law, compliance, corporate, among others), such as, for example:

María Inés Corrá: Founder and co-chair of Women Way in Arbitration Latam (WWA Latam), first Latam association aimed at promoting the participation and leadership of Latam women in international arbitration; D&I officer of the IBA Public Law Committee; Member of the ICCA Cross Institutional Task Force for the Gender Diversity in International Arbitration Appointments and Proceedings.

Ariadna Artopoulos: Argentine representative at the Women In Network of the International Fiscal Association.

María Victoria Funes: member of the Argentine chapter of the Women in the Profession (WIP) Program of the Vance Center for International Justice (2019).

Florencia Pagani: member of Women in Compliance.
