Position

Sebastián is a senior associate and a member of the mining, water, and environmental law practice areas. He specializes in the development of mining projects and hydraulic works, due diligence processes, and in obtaining permits, as well as regulatory and legal analysis for infrastructure projects.

Career

In the academic field, since 2018, he is assistant professor of the Natural Resources Law course, and since 2021, of the Continuing Education online course “Regulation of Natural Resources”, both at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Master in Regulation with a specialization in Environmental Regulation, London School of Economics, United Kingdom (2025). Course: “Key Essentials: Trade Rules, Sustainable Development and the Law”, University of Cambridge (2025).

His Master's thesis at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile on the regulation of desalination in Chile was awarded and recognized by the Chilean Association of Administrative Law (ADAD) as one of the three best research projects in Administrative Law in 2022. It was later published as a book. He received the Chevening Scholarship (United Kingdom) for his postgraduate studies abroad.
