Career

Ms. Laura Bacigalupo leads the Firm’s Customs & Foreign Trade Department.

She provides strategic counsel on customs and international trade matters to both domestic and international clients. She is involved in the structuring and implementation of foreign trade operations, with a particular focus on sectors such as agro-export, mining, and hydrocarbons. Her expertise includes advising on specialized trade regimes, evaluating new business opportunities, and navigating issues related to promotion policies. Additionally, she represents clients in resolving complex legal matters, including customs litigation.

Prior to joining the Firm in 2017, Ms. Bacigalupo served as an attorney at BRSV Abogados from 2003 to 2017, where she provided legal representation in customs and foreign trade disputes before the Argentine Customs Agency, the National Tax Court, and the Judiciary. Between 2008 and 2017, she also acted as legal advisor to CIARA (Chamber of the Oil Industry of the Argentine Republic) and CEC (Center of Cereal Exporters). Earlier in her career, Ms. Bacigalupo held a position at Argentina’s Ministry of Economy, where she worked in the National Tax Directorate’s Customs Technique and Valuation Area. She later joined Ernst & Young, contributing to the Tax Law Department from 2000 to 2002.

She has been a speaker at various foreign trade seminars and has written articles on customs matters for various specialized publications. Ms. Bacigalupo is a member of the Argentine Institute of Customs Studies and the Public Bar Association of the Federal Capital, currently serving as a board member of its Executive Committee. She also participates in the Foreign Trade, Customs, and Finance Commission of the Chamber of Corporations.

She earned her law degree from the School of Law of Universidad de Buenos Aires in 1997 and has developed substantial expertise in customs law, with a particular emphasis on customs valuation.
