Eugenio’s practice focuses on intellectual and industrial property rights, primarily in matters relating to tra- demarks and patents, copyright, information technology, advertising law, licensing and brand protection, plant varieties, appellations of origin and geographical indications, and litigation.
At the same time, he has implemented strategies for the protection of the rights of industrial property in Chile and abroad for a significant portfolio of national and international clients in industries such as retail, pharmaceutical, telecommunications and transport, among others.

Recent highlights include assisting pharmaceutical company Sandoz Group with reviewing the status of several patent applications of competitors. The IP, technology and data group is led by Eugenio Gormáz, whose expertise encompasses trade marks, patents, copyright, advertising law, licenses, plant varieties and denominations of origin / geographical indications. Albagli Zaliasnik‘s six-member life sciences team provides regulatory protection services to national and international pharmaceutical companies. The full-service law firm’s expertise ranges from biotechnology, pharmaceutical products, medical devices and cosmetics, to food-related litigation. Providing ‘great availability’, the group also comprises experts in compliance, investigations, competition and litigation, along with technology transfers, advertising, R&D, public tenders, clinical trials, and IP. Recent highlights saw the team assist Mega Labs in relation to investigations by the Instituto de Salud Publica which aim to determine compliance levels with bioequivalence, promotion and advertising regulations. The practice group’s principal figures are: Ariela Agosin, who heads up the firm’s civil litigation and arbitration, and public law and regulated markets groups, and whose wide-ranging practice includes pharmaceutical regulation; and IP, technology and data privacy group leader Eugenio Gormáz, whose experience covers plant varieties, in addition to trade marks, patents, copyright, IT, advertising law and licensing.
