Jorge Hernández Ogaz

Jorge Hernández joined the firm in May 2014 and became an Associate in January 2018.He has a good understanding of mining industry and provides strategic legal advice to both national and foreign companies on the acquisition of mining concessions in Mexico, and the compliance of obligations under Mexican Law and other related regulations.He practices in mining law and has accumulated experience in other related and specialized areas of practice such as corporate, agrarian, hydrological, environmental, migratory, agreements, due diligence, joint ventures, and the litigation of administrative, commercial, criminal and amparo matters.He has extensive experience advising on high-value mining transactions, including restructurings, acquisitions, due diligence processes, and negotiation of agreements for construction, services and land access. His practice covers obtaining key regulatory and explosives permits, drafting and executing agrarian agreements with communities, and leading administrative, criminal and constitutional (amparo) proceedings to safeguard mining concessions and assets. He has been actively involved in complex operations for the start-up and expansion of mining projects in Mexico, as well as in litigation strategies to challenge amendments to the Mining Law.Jorge holds a Law Degree from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus Chihuahua (2017), and a Master’s Degree in Constitutional and Administrative Law from Universidad La Salle Chihuahua (2022).
