Sherice Arman

Sherice is a partner and co-head of the Asset Finance practice in the Maples Group’s Cayman Islands office. She specialises in financing transactions, including banking and asset finance, fund and corporate finance and is recognised as an industry leader in asset finance, in particular for ship and aircraft finance.  Sherice also has significant experience in the field of regulated M&A transactions and regulatory advice.

Julian Ashworth

Julian is a partner of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office.  His practice focuses on private equity, hybrid and hedge fund structures and downstream transactions, including financing and security agreements, secondary transactions and fund restructurings.  He advises sponsors and management companies on profit sharing and funding arrangements and Cayman Islands regulatory matters.  Julian is also involved in corporate finance matters, including M&A transactions, joint ventures, co-investments and restructuring matters.

Jeremy Bomford

Jeremy is a partner of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office.  He specialises in the establishment, launch, ongoing maintenance and restructuring of all types of investment funds, particularly hedge funds and private equity funds, and acts for a diverse portfolio of clients in the asset management industry, ranging from start-ups to major financial institutions.  He also regularly advises clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial transactions.

Christopher Capewell

Christopher is global head of Maples and Calder’s Regulatory & Financial Services practice and is based in the Maples Group’s Cayman Islands office. He advises on all aspects of Cayman Islands investment funds with his practice focusing on regulatory matters impacting family offices and a wide variety of open and closed-ended investment vehicles including partnerships, unit trusts, LLCs and companies.  Christopher has extensive knowledge of FATCA, the OECD Common Reporting Standard, the Securities Investment Business Law, DAC6/MDR, Economic Substance and the OECD Country-by-Country Reporting regime.

Tim Coak

Tim is a partner of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office.  He advises private equity funds, hedge funds and investment managers on investment fund formation, restructuring and fund transactions.  He also advises on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters.

Suzanne Correy

Suzanne is a partner of Maples and Calder’s Corporate team and co-head of the Latin American practice and is based in the Maples Group’s Cayman Islands office. She has extensive experience in all aspects of corporate work, including joint ventures, IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, and also advises on a wide variety of structured finance, capital markets and investment fund transactions.  Suzanne maintains a strong focus on public company work, advising clients through all stages of their growth from start-up to IPO and beyond. Through her Latin American practice, Suzanne advises clients both originating from and investing into the region. She has also advised telecommunications clients and hardware companies on Cayman Islands licencing and regulatory issues.

Jo Cunningham

Jo is a partner of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office.  She specialises in the establishment and operation of Cayman Islands investment funds, and has a broad range of hedge fund, private equity fund and investment platform clients.  Her litigation background combined with her investment fund experience gives her a unique perspective on issues associated with distressed investment funds and she has advised extensively on the reorganisation of such funds.

Lee Davis

Lee is a partner of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office.  He advises hedge and private equity funds on their establishment and ongoing legal and regulatory compliance in the Cayman Islands. He also advises on general corporate and commercial matters.

Sheryl Dean

Sheryl is head of Maples and Calder’s Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group’s Cayman Islands office. She specialises in private equity fund structures and investments and represents a wide range of sponsors, from large institutions to boutique and start up investment managers, advising on the structuring, formation and operation of private funds and advising on downstream transactions and portfolio investments. Sheryl advises sponsors on their carry allocation and management vehicles. She also works on a number of related corporate transactions, including consortium deals and joint ventures, co-investments, buy-outs and restructurings.

Philip Dickinson

Philip is a partner of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office. He specialises in the structuring, formation and ongoing operation of Cayman Islands investment funds. He represents numerous private equity firms and fund managers on the establishment of fund structures, seed capital arrangements, restructurings, acquisitions and disposals, shareholder arrangements, joint ventures, downstream transactions and fund investment realisations. Philip also advises on compliance matters for the funds and their operators and managers.

Grant Dixon

Grant is a partner of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office. He advises a global client base and specialises in a broad range of fund products, focusing primarily on venture capital, private equity and hedge funds. He also has extensive experience in general corporate, financing and commercial matters.

John Dykstra

John is a partner in the Finance practice and head of the Insurance practice in the Maples Group’s Cayman Islands office. He specialises in structured finance, investment funds and corporate and commercial transactions, with an emphasis on catastrophe bond transactions and other insurance-linked securities, CLO transactions, fund financings, structured debt and repackagings.

Wanda Ebanks

Wanda is a partner of Maples and Calder's Finance team in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office.  She specialises in repackagings and structured finance transactions. Her area of practice also includes general corporate and commercial matters, with particular emphasis on local licencing and registration.  Wanda also has experience in ship and aircraft finance and registration, licensing and equity formation, as well as local immigration, employment, trade and business and special economic zone registrations.  She has experience working with export credit agencies in Europe and Latin America, and with airlines globally in the set-up and operation of Cayman Islands special purpose vehicles to participate in the acquisition, finance and leasing of aircraft.

Jonathan Green

Jonathan is the Global Managing Partner of Maples and Calder, the Maples Group's law firm. He advises on all aspects of investment funds, specialising in private equity and hedge fund formation.  Jonathan has extensive experience in corporate, partnership and trust structures, establishing and operating fund platforms, advising on fund regulatory matters, structuring downstream transactions and advising funds on matters arising throughout their life cycle.

Nick Herrod

Nick is a partner in Maples and Calder's Dispute Resolution & Insolvency team in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office. He provides a wide range of advice on international restructurings, contentious and non-contentious insolvency issues, structured finance and derivatives.  He specialises in cross-border insolvency, schemes of arrangement and structuring transactions to mitigate against the risks of insolvency.

Shari Howell

Shari is a partner of Maples and Calder's Finance team in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office.  She has extensive experience advising on asset finance transactions, with an emphasis on aircraft financing and leasing deals, including transactions with capital markets or Islamic elements, aircraft registrations, vessel financing and registrations, and general corporate commercial matters.  She principally advises commercial banks, financial institutions, European export credit agencies, airlines and aircraft lessors.

Adam Huckle

Adam is a partner of Maples and Calder's Financial Services Regulation and Dispute Resolution & Insolvency teams in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office.  Adam regularly represents retail and investment banks, trustees, investment funds and other financial institutions.  He has a broad range of litigation experience, with an emphasis on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters involving banking, finance, investment funds, company law and trusts disputes.  Adam's regulatory practice has a particular focus on economic sanctions, but also includes advising on cross border conduct of business, duties of confidentiality, anti-corruption and bribery, licensing, record retention and mandatory reporting and information exchange.  He regularly appears in the Grand Court and Court of Appeal of the Cayman Islands.

Mac Imrie

Mac is a consultant on Maples and Calder's Dispute Resolution & Insolvency team in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office.  He has broad experience in multi-jurisdictional commercial litigation, arbitration and regulatory matters.  Mac regularly works on mutual fund and hedge fund disputes and in crisis situations, and has been involved in several high-profile fund collapses and resultant litigation and arbitration.  Many of his cases involve obtaining interim protection for creditors and shareholders.  Mac has significant advocacy experience having appeared as counsel before numerous courts and tribunals around the world.

Michael Johns

Michael is partner of Maples and Calder's Corporate team in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office. Michael's expertise covers all aspects of corporate and securities law, including IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, SPACs and a broad range of banking, structured finance and capital markets transactions.  His practice focuses on the energy industry and public company listings and corporate governance.

Andrew Keast

Amanda Lazier

Amanda is a partner of Maples and Calder's Finance team in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office.  Amanda has significant experience advising clients on structured finance transactions, particularly CLOs, securitizations, repackagings, credit funds and other CLO investment structures; as well as on fund finance and banking transactions, in which she represents hedge funds, private equity funds and banks on lending transactions, bank products, deal structures and on all types of secured transactions. Amanda also has extensive experience in obtaining listings for clients on the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange.

Daniel Lee

Dan is global head of Maples and Calder’s Corporate team and is based in the Maples Group’s Cayman Islands office. Tina Meigh

Tina is global head of Maples and Calder’s Finance team and is based in the Maples Group’s Cayman Islands office. She leads the Fund Finance practice and also has extensive experience in all aspects of banking, derivatives and securitisations.  Tina represents hedge funds, private equity funds and banks on fund finance and other lending transactions, bank products, deal structures and on all types of secured transactions.  She advises a large number of international associations and financial institutions on derivatives and issues surrounding related collateral packages in the context of insolvency in the Cayman Islands.  She also has significant experience of general corporate and commercial matters and the establishment of offshore investment funds.

Jonathon Meloy

Jonathon is head of Maples and Calder’s Finance practice in the Maples Group’s Cayman Islands office. He is also co-head of the firm’s Asset Finance practice and has extensive experience of international capital markets and corporate finance transactions. He advises on all types of aircraft finance structures, with a particular focus on aircraft portfolio securitisations, large leasing platform establishments (including partnerships with fund sponsor investors), and on- and off-balance sheet commercial aircraft finance and leasing. In addition, Jonathon regularly acts on fund finance transactions (for both lenders and borrowers, including capital commitment subscription financing), as well as structured finance matters including CLOs and debt funds. Jonathon also advises on a wide range of general corporate and commercial deals, including restructurings, joint ventures and M&A transactions, and debt and equity listings on the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange.

Caroline Moran

Caroline is Global Co-Head of Maples and Calder’s global Dispute Resolution & Insolvency team and is based in the Maples Group’s Cayman Islands office. Caroline advises on all aspects of cross border and domestic insolvency and restructuring issues, in particular contentious and non-contentious restructurings, liquidations, schemes of arrangement and fund wind downs. She advises debtors and key stakeholders in financially distressed circumstances, including banks, funds, bondholders, directors, investors and insolvency practitioners. Caroline also has extensive commercial litigation experience in financial services disputes including appraisal rights/fair value cases and shareholder, board and investment funds disputes. She is an experienced advocate, who regularly appears in the Cayman Islands courts.

Anthony Philip

Anthony is a partner of Maples and Calder's Finance team in the Maples and Calder's Cayman Islands office.  Anthony has an extensive and broad range of experience in debt capital markets, corporate financing and asset financing.  He regularly advises hedge funds, private equity funds and banks on capital commitment fund financing as well as borrowers and lenders on aircraft financing.  He also advises on CLO and structured product transactions and secured and unsecured banking transactions, in addition to regulatory, general corporate and commercial matters and all types of listings on the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange.

Gwyneth Rees

Gwyneth is a partner of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office.  She works extensively with hedge fund managers and private equity sponsors and their onshore counsel on all aspects of the establishment, maintenance and restructuring of offshore investment funds.  She represents large global financial institutions and asset managers, as well as boutique and emerging managers.  Gwyneth has over 25 years' experience advising on the formation and structuring of hedge, hybrid, credit and activist funds, private equity funds and investment fund platforms.

James Reeve

James is head of the Cayman Islands’ Structured Finance practice.  He advises on structured finance transactions (in particular CLO transactions, related risk retention structures and catastrophe bonds), fund financing matters (acting for both lenders and borrowers) and general banking and financing work. James also has experience advising on asset finance transactions (particularly off-balance sheet commercial aircraft financing and leasing) and general corporate and commercial transactions, along with restructurings and securities listings on the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange.

Malachi is a partner of Maples and Calder's Dispute Resolution & Insolvency team in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office.  He has extensive experience in commercial litigation and ADR across a broad range of financial and commercial disputes (in a number of jurisdictions), including disputes relating to commercial contracts, partnerships, trust deeds, shareholder agreements, as well as disputes involving banks and other financial institutions.  Malachi is also an experienced advocate; in addition to acting for multi-national clients in international arbitrations, he has also advised clients on litigation arising from cross-border insolvencies.
