Career
Lucio Maldonado is a partner at Corr Cronin, where his practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, mass toxic-tort litigation, product liability defense, and appellate law. He represents individuals, small and local businesses, and Fortune 500 companies in high-stakes disputes, and is known for his solution-oriented approach to complex litigation, prioritizing practical outcomes over unnecessary conflict.
Lucio has litigated a wide range of matters, including federal qui tam investigations, class action defenses, white-collar criminal defense, mass toxic torts, trade secret misappropriation claims, telecommunications service provider disputes, professional malpractice, school district tort liability, agricultural disputes, data breach matters, and government investigations into elected officials.
His work has been consistently recognized by leading legal publications. Super Lawyers has named Lucio a Rising Star in Business Litigation each year since 2022. In 2022, Puget Sound Business Journal featured him in its inaugural Next Gen In Law section, highlighting emerging lawyers shaping the region’s business community. He was recognized by Best Lawyers as One to Watch for Commercial Litigation in 2023 and again in 2024, when he was also recognized in two additional practice areas: Appellate Practice and Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions – Defendants. In 2024, the Latina/o Bar Association of Washington presented Lucio with its New Lawyer Award. In 2025, Best Lawyers expanded his One to Watch recognitions to a total of six practice areas. Also in 2025, Benchmark Litigation named Lucio to its 40 & Under List – West, recognizing his work in Commercial Litigation, Production Liability Litigation, and White-Collar Crime – an honor awarded to only 109 attorneys from the West region, including just nine from Washington, and only two recognized in three practice areas.
Before joining Corr Cronin, Lucio clerked for the Honorable Steven González of the Washington Supreme Court. In 2021, when Justice González was elected by his peers to the role of Chief Justice – the first Chief Justice of color in Washington state history – he tapped Lucio to be his presenter at the swearing-in ceremony.
Lucio is committed to pro bono service and mentorship. He sits on the board of the Joint Minority Mentorship Program and regularly participates in initiatives supporting first-generation law students.
Fluent in Spanish, Lucio has a background in agriculture and largely credits his work ethic to long, hot days spent working on his family’s farm in Eastern Washington.
