Career
Tom is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department who concentrates his practice on complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on civil and criminal antitrust matters, as well as breach of contract, fraud, and securities matters.
Tom has represented clients in civil antitrust matters, including various class action lawsuits, ranging from price fixing under Section 1 of the Sherman Act to conspiring to monopolize under Section 2. He has also represented clients in connection with criminal price fixing and bid rigging grand jury investigations. Additionally, Tom has represented trade associations and assisted in ensuring their compliance with the antitrust laws.
Tom has been the lead associate on several teams that have successfully defended clients in various antitrust lawsuits, including multiple class action lawsuits. These teams have secured dismissals on motions to dismiss, as well as motions for summary judgment. He was also the lead associate on a team that successfully defended dismissal on appeal to the Seventh Circuit.
Tom also maintains an active pro bono practice, and he recently argued before the Illinois Appellate Court, securing an important appellate victory for a client facing a mortgage foreclosure and eviction.
