Laura is a Manchester-based Partner and also works from our Leeds office on a weekly basis. Laura has extensive experience advising on all aspects of employment law and works closely with C-suite executives, in-house legal teams, senior leaders and HR professionals across a broad range of issues. Her practice is focussed primarily on complex, high-value and reputationally sensitive employment litigation, where she acts predominantly for employers and individual respondents. Laura regularly defends multi-day Employment Tribunal claims involving multiple witnesses and allegations of whistleblowing and discrimination. She has particular experience in the consumer and transport sectors, including significant expertise in the rail industry. Alongside her litigation practice, Laura provides strategic and practical employment advice on day-to-day HR matters. This includes contractual disputes, executive terminations, complex disciplinary and grievance processes, managing poor performance and absence (including PHI considerations), and misconduct issues.

Laura also advises on the protection of business interests through restrictive covenants and confidentiality provisions, and represents clients in threatened and actual injunctive proceedings. She has a particular interest in the employment law issues arising from corporate restructuring, including collective consultation obligations in relation to redundancies and variations to terms and conditions of employment.
