Oommen is Managing Director of the Singapore office.

Oommen started his practice at Messrs Allen & Gledhill before moving on to two other local law firms.

Oommen has extensive experience in the last 10 years as lead counsel representing local, regional and international clients in the Singapore High Court, Court of Appeal (as evident from the more than 15 reported cases) and arbitrations conducted under the ICC and SIAC regimes. He is well regarded for his incisive and practical advice and sought after for his advocacy skills. He is also a co-contributor to the Singapore Court Procedure 2007 (the Singapore equivalent of the English White Book).

Oommen's range of practice covers a whole spectrum of commercial and corporate practice involving areas as diverse as sale of goods, banking, joint venture disputes to procedural matters involving the interplay between court proceedings and arbitration practice.

Oommen currently leads the South-East Asian dispute resolution practice in relation to dispute work in the region.

Oommen has been named as one of the “Dispute Stars” in Singapore for arbitration by Benchmark Litigation in its Asia Pacific litigation ranking for 2014. Oommen was noted for his extensive experience as lead counsel representing local, regional and international clients in arbitrations conducted under various regimes. Oommen has been consistently ranked in both Asia Pacific Legal 500 (2013, 2014) and Chambers Asia (2013, 2014) as a notable practitioner in international arbitration. The latest Chambers Asia (2014) described Oommen as “knowledgeable, with the ability to reassure the client” and he is helming “an arbitration practice par excellence” according to Asia Pacific Legal 500 (2014).
