Matthew Eisler is the Head of Sports Capital, advising clients across the full spectrum of complex transactional and league-related matters in the sports industry.

Matt is a recognized leader in the sports asset class, known for bringing a commercially minded, solutions-driven perspective to the complex considerations that define sports investments and strategic collaborations. He regularly advises private equity sponsors, individuals, family offices, fiduciaries, sports teams, and partners on high-stakes, market-shaping matters, including:

• Acquisitions and dispositions of control and minority stakes in teams
• Formation and structuring of consortiums and joint ventures, including multi-party ownership and investment arrangements
• Expansion franchise transactions and other league-related opportunities
• Recapitalizations, reorganizations, and new issuance transactions
• US and international league regulatory matters relating to structuring, compliance, and approvals
• High-value complex commercial arrangements, including naming rights matters

Before joining Latham, Matt was a partner at another global law firm, where he led its sports industry practice and served as deputy head of its Americas corporate and finance practice.
