Position

Mari Overbeck, a former federal prosecutor with the US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California, advises clients on complex commercial litigation and employment law.

A seasoned trial lawyer, Mari has substantial experience litigating — and winning — on both the plaintiff and defense side. Mari handles litigation and counseling matters across a wide variety of industries, including technology, retail, and financial services.

Mari’s trial, arbitration, and appellate practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, including class and collective actions, unfair competition, worker misclassification, fraud, breach of contract, and trade secret misappropriation. Mari also has significant experience overseeing a range of sensitive internal investigations.

Complementing her commercial work, Mari serves on the board of the San Francisco Bar Association and for more than 12 years was an adjunct professor at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings), where she taught advanced legal writing and oral advocacy. Mari has also taught as a visiting professor at Middlebury College.

Following law school, Mari clerked for Judges Bernard Zimmerman and William Alsup of the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
