John Tomes advises clients on all aspects of complex commercial real estate transactions, with a practice spanning financing and refinancing for lenders, private capital providers and borrowers, acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, and leasing throughout the United States. He has broad sector experience across hospitality, multifamily — including student housing and seniors housing —office, industrial, and retail. John’s real estate finance practice in particular includes representing lenders and borrowers with respect to large acquisition financings, with several recent transactions involving borrower representations in single-asset, single-borrower (SASB) commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) financings and large syndicated financings for portfolio acquisitions. John also has experience in loan restructurings, workouts, and other transactions involving nonperforming loans for both lenders and borrowers.
