Jose Ricardo Ibarra Córdova is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Monterrey office. His practice focuses on tax consulting and litigation, including national and international matters.

Mr. Ibarra has experience advising on domestic and cross-border tax matters, including corporate taxation, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate reorganizations, spinoffs, application of treaties for the avoidance of double taxation, due diligence reports, transfer pricing rules, imports and exports, permanent establishment, tax treatment for maquila companies, tax refund procedures, as well as general analysis on federal and local taxes. He also provides tax advice to nonprofit charitable organizations.

In addition, Mr. Ibarra has experience in defense and litigation matters, which includes assistance in tax audits such as domicile visits, cabinet reviews, transfer pricing audits, tax refund audits and electronic audits performed by tax authorities. He has filed several complaints and conclusive agreement procedures with the Mexican Taxpayers' Defense Agency (Prodecon), as well as several administrative recourse and tax and constitutional litigation procedures with federal and local Mexican courts.

Mr. Ibarra also has extensive experience in the negotiation of incentives granted by federal and state governments for investment projects, including tax exemptions and credits, cash grants, land and infrastructure, training programs and scholarships for employees.
