Diversity
At Browne Jacobson, our goal is to build a law firm that reflects the society we serve. We're committed to building a diverse and inclusive culture where everyone's voice and individual experience is welcomed.
Our people make us who we are. We are committed to building a culture where every voice is heard, every contribution is valued and our people can reach their potential and thrive. We celebrate the different identities, perspectives and backgrounds that make our firm stronger, and are committed to ensuring inclusion is experienced by our people and clients every day.
Diversity, equity and inclusion are fundamental to who we are as a firm. Guided by our senior leadership, supported by our DEI Networks (employee resource groups) and informed by the perspectives of our clients, communities and external partners, we are committed to creating an environment where everyone can thrive our people enjoy working at all levels.
Our commitment is reflected in our values, particularly being fair and inclusive, and is embedded across our culture, policies, processes and everyday behaviours.
Real progress requires discipline and accountability. That's why we treat DEI with the same rigour as any other business priority, by setting clear goals, sharing them publicly, measuring impact through data, and holding ourselves to account.
We aim to be the most inclusive and diverse law firm in the UK and Ireland. We firmly believe that creating an equitable and inclusive culture is not just a goal, but the very foundation upon which our diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI) and social mobility strategy is built.
Our current DEI strategy runs from 2025 to 2028 and is built around four overarching ambitions:
-
Creating an equitable and inclusive culture
-
Working together with our client and referrers
-
At the forefront of society's biggest issues
-
Embedding our values
Our leadership representation targets (by 2026):
-
50% female in the leadership (currently 44%) and 12% UK ethnically diverse in the leadership (currently 9%).
-
Progress against these targets is monitored quarterly by the DEI SteerCo and reported to the Board.
