Position

Joshua is a Senior Associate in the BVI team.

He has a growing litigation practice ranging from commercial disputes to public law issues. He has experience at the oral and written advocacy experience before the High Court and Court of Appeal. He has assisted with matters before the Privy Council.

Career

He was called to the Trinidad and Tobago Bar in 2018. He started under the supervision of a senior commercial attorney in Trinidad and Tobago where he gained experience in high-value commercial matters at the first instances and appellate level. Joshua moved into boutique commercial set in 2020 where he represented corporate clients, public authorities and companies in matters ranging from personal injuries and adverse possession to trusts and enforcing mortgagor’s duties.

Education

Joshua is a Chevening Scholar (2022) who obtained his Bachelor’s of Law from University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus (2013-2016). He pursued his Legal Education Certificate at the Hugh Wooding Law School (2016-2018). He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration. He obtained a LLM in Comparative and International Dispute Resolution (distinction) from Queen Mary University of London. He participated in the Paris Arbitration Academy 2023 which is a 3-week intensive course on arbitration hosted by the International Academy for Arbitration Law (brainchild of the late Emmanuel Gaillard).
