Career

Angus’s focus is on succession planning, tax planning and long-term asset protection for farming and landowning clients, with a particular focus on maximising business and agricultural property relief. He also advises on the tax implications of owning heritage property and is often involved with complex reorganisations of trusts and tax-efficient partitions of landed estates between family members.

Within this work, Angus covers a wide variety of matters including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, partnership agreements and capital tax planning in all its forms.

Angus gained an MA in French and History at the University of Edinburgh. He studied law at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice and qualified as a solicitor in 2005.

Angus joined Wrigleys as an assistant from Forsters (London) in 2009, and was made a partner in 2013.

Memberships

Angus is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Country Land and Business Association and the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust.

He also sits on the Country Land and Business Association’s national tax committee.

Angus is a recently retired trustee of the York Minster Fund and the Yorkshire Dales Rivers Trust and now assists the Ripon Cathedral Development Trust with their patrons scheme.
