David Greenhalgh

David Greenhalgh has over 36 years’ experience of acting for senior executives. He is ranked as a Leading Partner in the 2026 Legal 500 for his senior executive work.    He acts for (often global) CEOs, MDs, directors, heads and VPs, Heads of Compliance, Marketing, HR/People Heads, General Counsel, founders, etc.    He helps these senior executives when they are treated badly or being forced out of their roles. He helps them fight back and gets them the best possible exit terms.    Some of David’s clients are whistleblowers, others are accused of misconduct or poor performance.    David deals with all aspects of discrimination often involving race, sex or disability.    He has substantial experience of helping clients where the allegations against them could be career ending (safeguarding, criminal offences, discrimination or breach of professional standards).    David also helps senior executives who have been cheated out of large bonuses or share options/equity.    David is a litigator at heart/by background which enables him to give commercial, tactical advice on contentious issues, including in relation to alleged breaches of restrictive covenants/team moves etc.    Many of David’s senior executive clients are on high value packages including share options, bonuses and contractual exit payments. For that reason, the exit packages he secures for them are of similarly high value.    David is on the independent adviser lists (to advise senior executives exiting) of Aon, Aviva, KPMG, Munich Re, CMC Markets to name just a few.    As a father of two adopted children (one of who is neuro-diverse) with his same sex partner, David is a keen champion of LGBTQ+  and disability rights, understanding and fighting for inclusivity in the workplace generally, both through his employment legal work and through his role on the board of the Worshipful Company of HR Professionals (over the last 6 years), he has also mentored and tutored the next generation of law students at Queen Mary College, University of London in its Legal Advice Centre (6 years) and was the People trustee for Noah’s Ark Children Hospice for many years. David is also special adviser to Safe Workplace, an app designed to protect employers from legal risk/improve safeguarding compliance in the workplace.  David helps with the legal content design of the training and reporting elements of this app.
